| 3 | ![]() Progress through the campaign as normal, and try to obtain a Kulemak's Invitation by doing Abyssal Events. If you have finished the campaign and still haven't obtained one, you can trade a few Exalted Orbs for one. |
| 4 |
Once you have the Kulemak's Invitation in your inventory, head to the Well of Souls. Jump into the well to access the Black Cathedral. Note: We recommend finishing the campaign and reaching level 80 or above before fighting the boss. You can retry the boss encounter an unlimited number of times if you fail, but once you leave the area, you cannot return, and you will lose the Kulemac's Invitation. Make sure you're prepared before diving in! |

Interacting with one of the statues will empower the boss and result in another encounter, which will add another Desecrated Modifier to the Grip of Kulamek. Interact with all three status and subsequently defeat the Vessel to proceed. |
| 5 | Upon completing all three status and finishing each encounter, the option to Return the Finge will become available. This will initiate a boss fight with the Vessel of Kulemac at full strength.Return the finger to start the encounter, and you will be given the option to Embrace the Abyss, allowing your ascedance to the Abyssal Lich. |

The Umbral Well replaces the Necromantic Conduit and completely alters your play style. While you will still amass minions, each one will provide a different stat bonus based on the type of Skeletal Minion summoned.
Alternatively, the Steward of Kulemak interacts uniquely with power charges. This grants you an Abyssal Apparition that repeats your last used skill, opening up a myriad of new build possibilities.
The Abyssal Lich retains the Lich's passive abilities, including Crystalline Phylactery, which can be used in conjunction with the Abyssal Lich's unique passive abilities. This allows for some variation between builds with some adjustments, as some stas that Lich benefits from can still benefit the Abyssal Lich.
