How to Unlock The Mysterious Shade

Enter The Grim Tangle and Finish Secrets in the Dark

The Mysterious Shade Map View

You can unlock the quest The Mysterious Shade upon entering The Grim Tangle. There will be a Waypoint available and impassable roots. Summon Una to help remove these roots after finishing the quest Secrets in the Dark.

1. Finish the Quest Secrets in the Dark

When you encounter the area without finishing the quest Secrets in the Dark, there will be roots that hinder you from passing through.

2. Summon Una to Ask for Help Clearing the Roots

Una at Grim Tangle

Once the quest Secrets in the Dark is finished, go back to the Grim Tangle and summon Una. Then, talk to her about the roots.

3. Continue Through the Grim Tangle

Cemetery of the Eternals

Explore the area until you find the entrance for Cemetery of the Eternals. You will encounter many enemies like Fungal Zombies, Fungal Rattlers, Fungal Artillery, Fungal Proliferator, and Fungal Wolves so be careful!

You might also run into The Rotten Druid as you explore the Grim Tangle. You can choose to fight it to get gold and valuable items.

4. Find the Count's Grave Past the Memorial Gate

Lachlann of Endless Lament

Once you've arrived at the Cemetery of the Eternals, unlock the quest Sorrow Among Stones by talking to Lachlann the Lost by the Memorial Gate. Before you can pass through the gate, you need to get two Memorial Key Pieces first.

The first Memorial Key Piece can be obtained by defeating Draven, the Eternal Praetor at the Mausoleum of the Praetor.

Afterwards, look for the Tomb of the Consort and defeat Asinia to get the second Memorial Key Piece.

Once you have the two Memorial Key Pieces, enter the Memorial Gate and defeat Lachlann of Endless Lament.

5. Bring Count Lachlann's Ring to Una

Once Lachlann of Endless Lament has been defeated, return to Clearfell Encampment and talk to Una.

6. Witness the Revival of The Hooded One

The Hooded One

After talking to Una, a quick revival animation will show. Complete the quest by talking to The Hooded One once a quest marker appears over his head.
