Latest Pathfinder Updates
0.4.0 Patch Notes
The Pathfinder's Contagious Contamination and Practical Remedies have been removed. However, the replacement for Contagious Contamination node is called Path Seeker, wherein it allows you to choose one out of three paths that lets you start from another class's passive tree.
The Running Assault ascendancy node also receives a buff, as they cannot be Heavy Stunned while sprinting. Lastly, Traveller's Wisdom now grants Attribute Passive Skills such as damage, defenses, and cost efficiency instead of more passive points!

Running Assault is incredibly useful to have because it allows you to play around slower attacks such as channeling skills and long-winded Crossbow attacks. Without this Ascendency Skill, using slower attacks would not be viable because of mobility issues.
For survivability, Enduring Elixir is a powerful passive that allows your Life Potions to remain active as long as your HP is full. When you receive damage, you will essentially recover life without even needing to use your Life Flask!

Different Types of Concoctions
The Pathfinder ascendancy class allows the Ranger to throw the following concoctions at the cost of consuming flask charges:
- Poisonous: Chaos damage and Poison inflicted has more effect.
- Fulminating: Lightning damage and inflicts Lightning Exposure
- Shattering: Cold damage and inflicts Cold Exposure
- Explosive: Fire damage and inflicts Fire Exposure
- Bleeding: Physical damage and Bleed inflicted has higher Magnitude
Each concoction serves a variety of uses under different circumstances, and can synergize with whatever damage type you plan on using. Properly utilizing them can give players an advantage in combat.
However, it is important to keep in mind that throwing concoctions requires you to be unarmed, which means using this skill will swap off the weapon you are currently using to go unarmed.
Poison Mastery
Aside from Concoctions, the Pathfinder also increases the potency of poison effects, making it deadlier than ever before.
Passive skills such as Overwhelming Toxicity and Contagious Contamination help increase poison's viability in combat by making it easier to poison enemies and increase the damage poisoned enemies take from increased poison stacks.
Increased Mobility
Like the Deadeye, the Pathfinder ascendancy class increases the movement capabilities of the Ranger through skills like Running Assault and Relentless Pursuit, which decreases attack movement penalties and grants invulnerability to being slowed.
As such, the class may also benefit from a run-and-gun playstyle, capitalizing on throwing concoctions instead of simply rapid-firing arrows.

To become a Pathfinder, players must choose the Ranger as their starting class and complete her Ascension Trials. The other ascended option of the Ranger is the Pathfinder.
