This endgame Detonate Dead Blood Mage build shines at deleting Tier 15+ bosses in the Atlas by turning corpses into massive explosions. Detonate Dead's AoE clears huge areas of enemies effortlessly, making it perfect for sweeping hordes and efficiently handling Trial of Chaos with Level 80 Keys.
The build’s survivability is enhanced by skeletal minions, who draw enemy attention away from you, keeping you safe while you rain destruction.

Get a scepter that increases Spirit, Increased Level of All Minions Skills, and Increased Maximum Life for Minions.
A key gear item for the build is Enezun's Charge Volatile Wand. This wand provides a 25% chance of not destroying corpses when casting spells that would normally consume them like Detonate Dead. This allows you to reuse the same corpses for multiple explosions.
Another key piece of gear is Threaded Light Woven Focus, which provides Spell Damage per 10 Spirit, amplifying your damage as your Spirit pool increases.

Focus on gear with Spirit and Increased Level to All Minion Skills for scaling your minions' power. Ensure Elemental Resistances are capped at 75% for survivability. This Blood Mage build focuses on Detonate Dead spell, utilizing its explosive corpse damage for efficient area clearing. Keeping the Detonate Dead gem at Level 7 minimizes mana cost without reducing its effectiveness, as damage scales with corpse life, not gem level. Slotting Ambush in lets you one-shot bosses, while Magnified Effect boosts its AoE for even larger explosions.
Additionally, you can swap Considered Casting for Magnified Effect when fighting bosses.
For minions, aim for 4 Skeletal Brutes to deal heavy damage and take pressure off you, while 2 Skeletal Clerics keep them alive longer with healing and resurrection.
Soul Offering boosts your damage by impaling a Skeleton, granting a Spell Damage buff that further increases Detonate Dead's power. Grim Feast feeds on corpses to restore Energy Shield, and while active, it grants the chance for Grim Remnants to drop from killed enemies and your minions.
Lastly, Sacrifice allows you to use your minions as substitutes for corpses, enabling you to cast Detonate Corpse more frequently, even during boss fights when there are no corpses. Combined with the massive HP of your Skeletal Brutes, this makes your Detonate Corpse devastating to enemies.

Stack up on Minion Life passives to keep your minions beefy, and get nodes like Living Death, Necrotised Flesh, and Vile Mending. This not only boosts your survival but makes those corpse explosions from Detonate Corpse and Sacrifice even more devastating!
Meat Recycling is a key passive, giving a 15% chance to avoid destroying corpses when consumed. This keeps your clears smooth and your boss fights consistent since your Skeletal Brutes won’t keep dropping like flies when casting Detonate Corpse.
Grab True Strike, For the Jugular, and Deadly Force for loads of crit chance and crit damage.
For Weapon Set 1, go with Reverberation and Repulsion for bigger AoE, stronger spell damage, and knockback effect for mobbing. For Weapon Set 2, pick Desensitization and Cut to the Bone for extra critical damage and physical damage—perfect for making your Detonate Dead hit like a truck, with a chance at one-shotting bosses.

Raging Spirits While active, your Fire Spells will also summon Raging Spirits, which are short-lived flaming skulls that rush at nearby enemies and rapidly Attack them. Enemies will not directly engage these Minions, and can pass through them.
Skeletal Arsonist Summons bomb-throwing, reviving Skeletal Arsonists that can detonate other minions on command.

Ice Nova A nova of ice expands from you, Knocking Back enemies based on how close they are to you. Casting Ice Nova targeting near a Frostbolt Projectile will cause it to originate from the Frostbolt insead of you, and cause more Freeze buildup.
Solar Orb Creates a fiery Orb that periodically releases fiery pulses. Enemies that are very close to the Orb are Ignited.
Flammability Curses all targets in an area after a short delay, lowering their Fire Resistance.
Flameblast Channels to build destructive energy around you or a targeted Solar Orb. Releasing the energy causes a devastating explosion that is larger and more intense the longer you channelled for.
