Best Infernalist Ascendancy Skills

Skill Effect
Demonic Possession ・Grant's Skill: Demon Form
Beidat's Will ・Reserves 25% of Life
・+1 to Maximum Spirit per 25 Maximum Life.

The Demonic Possession node lets her shapeshift into a demon, vastly amplifying spell damage. However, staying in this form comes with the risk of rapidly depleting her Life if not managed carefully.

Finally, Beidat's Will allows the Infernalist to have high Spirit reserves by converting some of their Maximum Life to Spirit. This has implications such as having the ability to slot in more Spirit Gems while still having a high enough Spirit for reserving multiple Minions.

Infernalist Ascendancy Mechanics

Summons Hellhound for Ignite Synergy

The Infernalist gains access to the Summon Infernal Hound skill, calling forth a loyal Hellhound that ignites nearby enemies to enable Fire Spell synergy.

Transforms into a Demon for Spell Power

The Infernalist can shapeshift into Demon Form, greatly amplifying her spell damage, mobility, and casting speed. While in this form, she accumulates Demonflame each second, which causes her life to drain at an accelerating rate. The transformation ends if her life drops to 1, she uses a non-spell skill, or the skill is reactivated.

Turns Mana into Infernal Flame

The Pyromantic Pact replaces her usual mana bar with Infernal Flame. Instead of consuming mana, spells build up Infernal Flame with each cast. When Infernal Flame reaches its limit, she takes fire damage based on her Life and Energy Shield, losing all accumulated Flame in the process.

Infernal Flame naturally dissipates over time if not continuously fueled by spellcasting.

PoE 2 Minion Infernalist Witch Build

Infernalist Base Class

Ascends From the Witch

Path of Exile 2 - Witch

To become an Infernalist, one must take on the Witch as their starting class and complete their Ascension Trials. The other ascended option of the Witch would be the Blood Mage.

Due to the Witch's squishy and less mobile nature, it is recommended to take on Ascension Trials with minimal environmental hazards to minimize the risk of dying!

Hi there! We've updated the page — thank you for bringing it to our attention!

This page is out of date. The infernal hound no longer absorbs any damage at all, and is no longer called loyal as a result. This drastically alters its uses and purpose.
