Talk to Finn

You can unlock the quest Ominous Altars by talking to Finn in the Clearfell Encampment.

Search for Freythorn Above the Hunting Grounds Search for Ritual Altars and Cleanse Them Defeat the King in the Mists Talk to Finn for Your Reward

1. Search for Freythorn Above the Hunting Grounds

Freythorn entrance
From the Hunting Grounds, look for the entrance to Freythorn.

2. Search for Ritual Altars and Cleanse Them

Explore Freythorn and look for Ritual Altars. There are 3 Ritual Altars within the area, each spawning enemies after interacting with it. You will encounter many enemies, such as Cultist Brutes, Cultist Archers, Cultist Daggerdancers, and Brutalfists, so be careful!

Go to the Final Ritual Altar in a Circular Area

On the far end of the map, you'll find a large Circular Area containing a fourth Ritual Altar. If you have not completed three Ritual Altars before reaching it, it will be covered in black clouds and inaccessible.

After you have completed the 3 other Ritual Altars, return here for the final Ritual. Note that the quest objective will not change, so you'll need to remember to return here after completing the other three.

3. Defeat The King in the Mists

In the final Ritual Altar, The King in the Mists will spawn. This boss features 2 phases, so come to the fight prepared!

The King in the Mists in the first phase is shifty and able to teleport backward while also dealing with short- and long-range AOE attacks.

Once the boss is low enough health, the second phase will begin. The King in the Mists no longer teleports in the second phase, but the range and AOE of his attacks are increased.

4. Talk to Finn for Your Reward

Complete the quest by talking to Finn right after defeating The King in the Mists.

・Ruby Charm, or ・Sapphire Charm, or ・Topaz Charm

Completing the Ominous Altars quest grants these rewards. You can obtain them after completing a certain objective or by completing the entire quest.
