Avoid the Town Portal Bug in Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2) by not using town portals until it has been fixed. Read on for other methods to fix the town portal bug!

Use Waypoints For Now

Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2) Use Waypoints

Instead of using the town portal, you can opt to using waypoints in specific locations to travel back to town. There haven't been any reports that causes the bug when using waypoints, so this may be your current best option!

With the recent patch notes, this bug has been addressed and fixed. If you're still encountering this bug somehow, let us know in the comments!

Portals Load the Area You're Traveling To

Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2) Portal to Town

Sometimes, portals to town can kick you out of the game back to the login screen since the game loads the area while the servers are full, which may cause the bug to happen. This makes you enter the queuing process again and wait for a while to enter the game again.

Change Create a Portal Bind From the Options Menu

While the “Create a Portal” button can be found on the lower right corner of your screen, you can also change its key binding by going to “Input” under “Options”.

My portal tries taking me to the mauseleom and says instance failed due to character being in another league? I tried rebinding the town portal but it just keeps attempting to take me there instead of my hideout. I have already cleared the map so there is nothing I can let kill me and now waypoint to use

Whats up with the portal bug it closes instantly after I get to town! As if leveling isent already hard enough lol
