In Path of Exile 2, players can use a Scroll of Wisdom to identify items. Read on to learn more about how to identify items and equipment in the game.

Use a Scroll of Wisdom

# How to Use a Scroll of Wisdom

POE 2 - Right click on Scroll of Wisdom
Right click on a Scroll of Wisdom to make it usable on an item or other equipment.

POE 2 - Hover over an item
Hover over an item you wish to identify then left click on the same item.

POE 2 - Item is identified
Item is now successfully identifed.

As you progress in the game, there will be items you run into that will need to be identified. Players can use a Scroll of Wisdom to identify items and equipment.

Identify Items for Free at the Hooded One

POE 2 - The Hooded One

Once players have completed the Mysterious Shade quest, the Hooded One will be revived as an NPC you can interact with to identify items and passives for free. In order to complete this quest, you first have to finish the Sorrow Among Stones quest where you'll need to defeat Draven and Lachlann.

Do note that the Hooded One can only identify items in your inventory and not your stash so be sure to have them on your character before heading to the NPC.
