Party Bonuses and Group Scaling Explained |

|
Playing in a group increases the HP of enemies you encounter, making them more tougher to kill. This is necessary so the game doesn't feel easy when playing with a party.
Experience from killing mobs is shared between the members of your party. This is great for helping your friends level up, however, you must choose in the settings between downscaling your level to that of your party, or your low-level party members will have an experience penalty.
Leveling Guide: How to Get XP Fast
The loot quantity seems to have increased while playing as a group based on the team's experience. This encourages players to play as a group despite the HP scaling, since they can get more loot this way.
Option | Explanation |
---|---|
Free for All | Free for All means that all drops from mobs can be picked up by anyone. |
Short Allocation | Dropped loot are assigned or allocated to different players, which only they can pick the loot up. The drops becomes free for all after a short time. |
Permanent Allocation | The items are permanently allocated to a player, disabling the option to pick the item up by other players until the assigned player leaves the area. |
With a group of friends you trust, it's generally a good idea to set the Item Allocation to Free for All and just divide the loot equally. Choose Short or Permanent Allocation when playing with random players because some might get greedy and get all the good stuff.
