Act 3 - Jiquani's Machinarium

Blackjaw is in an optional area, The Oubliette, in Jiquani's Machinarium in Act 3. Though optional, it's highly recommended to defeat this boss for the permanent Fire Resistance upgrade.

Use a Soul Core to Open the Gate to Blackjaw

The Chamber of the Remnant entrance, where you can find Blackjaw, can be found near a checkpoint opposite the Jiquani Sanctum entrance. You can open the door leading to the boss area by using a Soul Core on the Stone Altar nearby.

Black Jaw's hits are heavy but mostly lands infront of it so dodge rolling behind it will allow you to offset the majority of its damage.

All Phase 1 Moves

Moves Details and Tips
Slam Attack
A slam attack that deals major damage. Avoid it by dodgerolling away from the targeted area. Blackjaw can follow up this move at least 2 times so be wary before jumping back into the fight.
Fire Breath
Breathes fire in an angle from left to right dealing fire damage and inflicting ignite.
Avoid this by running clockwise and dodge rolling away or into Blackjaw.
Push Back
A swift push back that deals minor damage to the player. It deals negligible damage and should not prove fatal unless the player's health is extremely low.
Upward Slash
A straight forward swift attack that does regular damage. Not much counterplay here aside from standing behind Blackjaw as much as possible.

Moves Details and Tips
Jump Slam
Blackjaw jumps into the air to launch a slam attack with higher damage and more range.
Avoid this similar to how you'd avoid its slam attack but with less time.
Flame Cleave
Blackjaw breathes fire into its axe then cleaves all enemies infront of him.
Avoid it by staying away from Blackjaw or running behind him.
Flame Projectiles
Blackjaw breathes into his surrounding area then launches flaming projectiles at the player.
Avoid it by moving sideways. Additionally, you can also hide behind the pillars to block the said projectiles.

the 3 slam strike is absolutely broken good luck dodging it and if you do itll still hit you. horrible boss design and horrible placement and level design.

It has a random three cone strike that blasts whole length of room 30 degree in front of him and he turns to the target so you need to be in an open area and constantly run.
