How to Use and Customize Chat Box

The Chat Box is used to communicate with other players in Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2). Read on and check out how to use the chat box and how to customize it in this guide!

How to Use Chat Box

Press Enter to Access the Chat Box

While inside the game, pressing enter will access the chat box. Choose which chat you'd like to enter via the tabs at the top, then you can communicate with other players in the chat box.

Adjust Chat Box Width and Height in the Settings

Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2) Chat Box

The Chat Box's width and height can be customized to your liking. This can be done by accessing the Interface Tab in the settings. You can also change the font size to either small, medium, or large.

Toggle Different Chats and Change Channels

Chat Description
Local All chats and conversations done on your current map will be shown here.
Global These are chats from different people all over the server, no matter where they are.
Party Party chat is a channel for all conversations made between you and your party members. It is disabled by default while not in a party.

Whispers Whispers are direct or private messages between two players.
Trade The trade chat are for all trading purposes. It's better to link your items and send them in the trade channel so it will be visible to those interested without getting flooded with chats from other people.

Guild The guild chat is a channel that lets guild members communicate with one another within the guild.

Players can toggle different chats by left clicking the tabs in the chat box. Right clicking the global and trade chat tabs allows you to change channels, however, it's only available once you've reached level 25.
