Mouse and Keyboard or WASD as input methods provide different ways to control your character in Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2). Read on and find out if you should choose Mouse or WASD as the input method, as well as how to change the movement type!

Should You Choose Mouse or WASD?

Choose Mouse for Easier Skill Casting

Choosing the mouse as your primary movement type will make your keys free for binding skills and other features. However, this may make it harder to move during combat, as you'll have to constantly click on the ground to move your character while clicking on enemies to attack.

Choose WASD for Easier Movement

Choosign the WASD keys as your primary movement type can make combat easier since you can move in any direction while focusing your mouse on the enemy. This, however, removes the ability to bind abilities on the WASD keys.

How to Change Movement Type

Change Input Method in the Options Menu

Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2) Change Input Method

Go to Options > Input > select either Mouse & Keyboard, WASD, or Controller. You can only change the input method while on the main menu or on the character selection menu.

The controller option will only become available once you connect a supported controller in your PC.
