When viewed using the Map Device, the Derelict Mansion will first appear as the Mansion in the Mists. Since this is area contains a Deadly Map Boss, there is a specific mechanic you must complete before you can enter the map.

How to Unlock Derelict Mansion

Activate the Draiocht Hengestones

Draiocht Hengestone

You must look for and activate Draiocht Hengestones within the maps surrounding the Mansion in the Mists in order to clear the dark fog surrounding it. Once the fog has been cleared, it will now appear as the Derelict Mansion.

Derelict Mansion Map Bosses

Varloch, the Ashen Lord & Avelyne, the Withered Rose

Thane Wulfric and Lady Elswyth

The bosses of Derelict Mansion are more powerful versions of Thane Wulfric and Lady Elswyth from the Recruit the Ezomytes Interlude Quest. They have the same movesets, but with significantly more health and damage.

It is recommended to focus on defeating one of the bosses first instead of facing them head on at the same time.
