Introduction of the Druid Class
The new Druid Class has 3 animal forms available: the Bear, Wolf, and Wyvern! Each animal form has their own strengths in combat, and you can seamleassly transition between forms. Druids are also the first hybrid class to scale off both Strength and Intelligence.
Druid Class Overview and Skills
Shaman and Oracle Ascendancy Classes
Two of the three Druid Ascendency Classes, the Shaman and Oracle, will be introduced after the update. The third Druid Ascendancy Class will be introduced at a later date.
The Shaman leans into spellcasting and elemental damage, further improving your animal forms and spells. The Oracle introduces a new mechanic by showing you a glimpse of your future attacks, boosting your damage if follow through with them.
New Animal Talisman Weapon Type
The Animal Talisman is a new weapon type that will be introduced in 0.4.0. This weapon enables players to transform into either a bear or a wolf, depending on how it is set up.
This weapon is also available for any class to equip, which means using animal forms is not limited to only Druids. This gives players the freedom to experiment and opens up plenty of build possibilities.
Fate of the Vaal League
Upon activating mechanisms scattered throughout Wraeclast, you will be led into the Vaal Ruins. Inside, you can use the Temple Console to place rooms and customize your own temple paths. Once everything is set up, you can enter your creation and fight through the area!
The rooms you will place can synergize with one another, and grant their own unique effects. As you stack the effects, enemies will grow stronger and clearing the temple will provide better rewards.
Fate of the Vaal Guide and Release Date
Unlock More Crafting Methods
Within the rooms of the Temple, you can encounter a variety of enemies, rewards, and more imporantly, crafting methods. For example, the Locus of Corruption room gives you access a corruption altar. Upon leveling this room up, the altar can take corrupted items and modify them further. However, there is a 50% chance of destroying your item in the process.
There are several more methods of crafting within the Temple. Fortunately, you do not need to bring the item you want modified during your runs. Instead, you can turn the crafting method into a currency, which you can apply later on or sell on the market.
Replace Your Limbs With the Flesh Surgeon
A specific room within the Temple called the Surgeon's Symphony contains the Flesh Surgeon. Here, you can interact with the Transcension Device in the middle of the room to replace one of your limbs.
You will be given four limb options, with each providing their own bonus effects. Upon dying, your limbs will reset and the bonus effects will disappear.
Abysses Added to Core Endgame Mechanics
The Abyss game mechanic from the previous league will be added as a core endgame mechanic. Thus, Abyss-focused tablets and a new Abyss Atlas Skill Tree will be added.
Instilling Removed for Waystones
The developers have removed instilling and Well of Souls crafting to boost waystones due to the negative feedback from players. Thus, more importance is being given to instilling tablets instead since these can last longer. Moving forward, the developers will no longer apply crafting directly to Waystones except for the basic currency.
Improved Endgame Experience
Several changes will be applied to the Endgame to address issues regarding its overall gameplay and performance. An example would be the number of enemies no longer scaling up in the endgame, and will instead have more health, grant more rewards, and provide more EXP.
Another change is an improvement on game performance by optimizing CPU load. Players can expect up to a 25% higher frame rate and reduced frame spikes during gameplay.
Balance Changes
There are several new additions to the game: 11 new Unique items, 9 new Lineage Support Gems, and over 250 new passive skills. Along with this, dozens of Unique items, 21 Lineage Support Gems, almost all Ascendancy classes, and 90 active skills across all classes have been rebalanced.

The new Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids update will be released on December 12, 2025, at 11 AM PST.
There are more changes that will not be included in 0.4.0. The developers have confirmed more changes are coming in 0.5.0.
