・More Vaal Orbs are now found during the Trials of Chaos, and less often from other sources.
・You are now able to respawn at checkpoint from the Escape Menu in the Trial of the Sekhemas and Trials of Chaos, which will take you back to the entrance of the respective Trial.
・Fixed a bug where the Trials of Chaos could sometimes be inaccessible in Couch Co-Op.
・Fixed a bug where Player 2 was unable to view trial progress in Trials of the Sekhema in Couch Co-Op.

Upon reaching Act 2, you will come upon the knowledge of the Trial of the Sekhemas, a necessary step for Ascendancy. To participate, you must obtain Balbala's Barya and place it on the Relic Altar.

Upon exploring the vast treescapes of the Infested Barrens in Act 3, you will come across the Temple of Chaos. Entry to the trial requires you to receive a token after defeating Xyclucian, the Chimera in the Chimeral Wetlands.

Which Trial Should I Choose?

Recommended: Sekhemas for a Roguelike Experience

The Trial of Sekhemas offers a roguelike experience where you can gain boons (buffs) and afflictions (debuffs) based on the rooms you choose to proceed through. This trial is significantly longer to clear than the Trial of Chaos, since you go through a series of rooms and challenges per trial. The highest level of Barya can have up to 4 trials.

You can essentially clear a trial with only boons by not avoiding rooms that gives you afflictions. Determine whether the reward in a room is worth the risk of getting an affliction.

Trial of Chaos for Faster but Harder Runs

The Trial of Chaos is faster to clear than the Trial of Sekhemas, but you only gain debuffs, called Tribulations, after clearing rooms. The good thing is that you can choose one of three random Tribulations after each room.

There are only a maximum of 10 rooms to clear by using the highest level of Inscribed Ultimatum, and you'll encounter all three bosses in rooms 4, 7, and 10.

Ascension Trials are currently the only available methods to ascend each class to their respective Ascendancy Classes. Upon ascension, a class will receive drastic changes that ultimately change their playstyle in-game.
