How to Unlock Abandoned Prison

You can unlock this quest by sailing to the Abandoned Prison using the ship in Kingsmarch.

Explore the Prison and Solitary Confinement

Abandoned Prison

From the ship in Kingsmarch, sail to the Abandoned Prison. You will need to look for the entrance to Solitary Confinement to fight the area's boss. However, make sure to explore the whole map as there are several useful items for you to pick up.

An example would be a cache of weapons locked behind a door. Open locked doors by interacting with the levers you find nearby them.

Interact With the Goddess of Justice in the Prison

Goddess of Justice in Abandoned Prison

Before going to Solitary Confinement, scour the Prison area for an area called The Chapel. Inside, you will find a statue called the Goddess of Justice. Interacting with the statue will give you the choice of gaining 30% increased recovery between either life or mana flasks.

Open the Fortified Door

Fortified Door in Solitary Confinement

At the end of Solitary Confinement, you will find a series of levers and locked doors that lead to a Fortified Door. Behind this door lies The Prisoner boss. You must defeat this boss to progress through The Search.

Slay The Prisoner

Using Ballistas Against The Prisoner

When facing The Prisoner, an important mechanic would be the use of Ballistas. When the boss drops below certain health thresholds, The Prisoner is temporarily knocked down and you need to use the nearby Ballistas to continue dealing damage.

Note that when The Prisoner is knocked down, he takes nearly zero damage from your character's direct attacks.

Witness and Speak to The Hooded One

The Hooded One After The Prisoner Fight
Look for the entrance to the Singing Caverns, the island's second area. Keep going through the area until you find the Chamber of Echoes, which is where Diamora, Song of Death can be found.
