Glacial Rune Icon Glacial Rune ・Weapon: Adds 6 to 10 Cold Damage
・Armour: +12% to Cold Resistance
Inspiration Rune Icon Inspiration Rune ・Weapon: Gain 10 Mana per Enemy Killed
・Armour: 15% increased Mana Regeneration Rate
Iron Rune Icon Iron Rune ・Weapon: 20% increased Physical Damage
・Armour: 20% increased Armour, Evasion, and Energy Shield
Mind Rune Icon Mind Rune ・Weapon: Leeches 2% of Physical Damage as Mana
・Armour: +20 to maximum Mana
Rebirth Rune Icon Rebirth Rune ・Weapon: Gain 20 Life per Enemy Killed
・Armour: Regenerate 0.3% of Life per second

・Armour: 10% increased Life and Mana recovery from Flasks

How to Get Runes

Dropped by Enemies

Runes are dropped randomly by defeated enemies. Stronger enemies like rare mobs have a higher chance of dropping Runes.

Use Currency Exchange

Runes can also be obtained by visiting the Currency Exchange NPC in every Act. Currency Exchange becomes available in Cruel Difficulty which is unlocked after completing Act 3 on Normal difficulty.

What Are Runes?

Socketed Into Equipment

Runes are inserted into equipment with empty sockets and grant various effects. The bonuses granted by each Rune depends on whether they're inserted into a Martial Weapon or Armour piece.

Can Be Replaced

Patch 0.2.0 allows Runes to be replaced with another, giving players more freedom when building their characters.

Prior to Patch 0.2.0, Runes are permanent when socketed into equipment. They cannot be removed from items even if you salvage or disenchant them.
