Jewel Sockets are found on the Passive Skill Tree and allow you to place jewels that grant bonuses in Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2). Check out this guide to learn more about jewel sockets, how to use them, and how to unlock Jewel Sockets!
List of Contents
Open the Passive Skill Tree (P) and bring out the Inventory (I) window at the same time. You can then drag and drop Jewels from your Inventory to an empty unlocked Jewel Socket to gain its bonuses.
You can freely remove socketed Jewels at no cost by dragging it back into your Inventory from the Jewel Socket so you don't have to worry about it being a permanent decision. At the same time, socketing Jewels does not cost anything.
Level up and gain skill points to unlock jewel socket nodes in the passive skill tree. To find these nodes, type Jewel Socket on the search bar in the upper right corner or just look for nodes that look empty and hover over them to check if it's a socket.
Passive Skill Tree Guide and List of Passives
Jewel Sockets can be unlocked really early after about 15 or so levels if you rush to it on the skill tree but it is not recommended to do this since at this point you won't have good jewels to socket.
You can obtain jewels from the Trial of the Sekhemas and also from defeating The Ninth Treasure of Keth. These will drop random jewels that you can use for the jewel sockets.
Jewel Sockets can be socketed with any suitable Jewel you can find to gain bonuses for your character. There are basic Jewels that simply grant stats and there are also special kinds of Jewels that can modify Passives within a certain radius of the socket's location on the skill tree.
