How to Unlock Secrets in the Dark

Talk to Una in the Clearfell Encampment

Secrets in the Dark Map View

You can unlock the quest Secrets in the Dark by talking to Una by the campfire within The Clearfell Encampment. This is the first quest Una will give, and will start right after your interaction.

Travel Through Clearfell to the Grelwood Search the Grelwood and Summon Una Find and Explore the Red Vale for Obelisks Investigate the Obelisks Collect All 3 Runes and Defeat Guarding Monsters Defeat the Rust King for the Final Rune Bring the Runes to Renly Stab the Rune Spikes Into the Tree of Souls Speak to Una

1. Travel Through Clearfell to the Grelwood

Grelwood Entrance
From Clearfell Encampment, explore Clearfell and look for the entrance to The Grelwood.

2. Search the Old Forest for Evidence of the Count's Activities

The Hooded One Secrets in the Dark
Find the tree with The Hooded One within The Grelwood. You will encounter enemies and a waypoint along the way. Once there, summon Una and talk to her.

3. Find the Entrance to The Red Vale in Grelwood

The Red Vale Entrance
Explore The Grelwood and find the entrance to the The Red Vale. Once there, explore the Red Vale and look for Obelisks of Rust.They are tall, red columns you can interact with throughout the area.

4. Investigate the Obelisks of Rust

The first Obelisk can be found nearby the waypoint within The Red Vale. Once you interact with an Obelisk, enemies will spawn, and you must defeat them before picking up a Runed Girdle.

5. Collect All 3 Runes of Power and Defeat the Monsters Guarding It

There are 3 Obelisks of Rust scattered within the area. Obelisks can be found nearby checkpoints, so keep an eye out for them throughout the map! Make sure to come well equipped, as you will encounter many enemies such as Bloom Serpents, Ancient Ezomytes, and Maw Demons.

6. Defeat the Rust King to Obtain the Final Rune of Power

Once you interact with the final Obelisk, the Rust King will spawn. This boss attacks in quick succession and spawns Ancient Ezomytes during the fight, so be careful not to get overwhelmed! This boss drops the final Rune and loot once defeated.

7. Bring the Runes to Renly for Forging

Return to Clearfell Encampment and give the Runes to Renly, who will forge Rune Spikes.

8. Stab the Rune Spikes Into the Tree of Souls

Go to The Grelwood and interact with all 3 Runic Seals on the Tree of Souls.

9. Speak to Una About What You Have Just Witnessed

Una Secrets in the Dark
Complete the quest by returning to Clearfell Encampment and talking to Una.
