Players can encounter The Rust King in The Red Vale area, while doing the Secrets in the Dark
main quest. He will spawn near the player once they collect the third and final rune of power.

Avoid His Summoned Weapons
The Rust King will often ignite his weapons and launch them at you in various ways. Check each of its motion to see which directions the weapons will fly to avoid them.
Defeat Ancient Ezomytes
You will encounter an attack wherein The Rust King raises his weapon, a bolt of lightning encircles the area, and Ancient Ezomytes emerge and may be able to surround you. Make sure to deal with these smaller enemies before focusing back on The Rust King.

The Rust King swings a whip-like weapon twice before charging up a barrage of blades to throw in your direction. How to Dodge: Dodge away or to the side of The Rust King before positioning yourself behind him to counterattack. |

The Rust King summons blades facing all directions. After a short delay, he releases these blades as projectiles How to Dodge: There are reasonable gaps between each blade. Position yourself in between the blades to avoid taking damage.. |
| "For the clan!" Summon Ezomytes |
Lightning strikes around The Rust King, as Ezomytes rise from the ground and surround you. |
| Blade Slam | The Rust King conjures several blades arranged in a straight line, before slamming them down in front of him. How to Dodge: Time your dodge away from the boulder just when The Rotten Druid releases the attack. |
| Blade Barrage | The Rust King gathers numerous blades that will rain down upon you after a small delay. How to Dodge: Though the blades lock onto your general direction, there is a significant delay between the time it locks on and when it is released. Use this window to quickly get behind The Rust King to avoid damage and to counterattack. |
| Default Melee Attack | A series of melee swings that deal damage in front of it. How to Dodge: Position yourself to its sides or behind it to avoid taking damage. Use this opportunity to weave in your own attacks. |
