Players can equip different skills when using different weapon sets with the Weapon Specialization feature in Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2). Check out how to swap weapons and details about the Weapon Swap and Weapon Specialization feature on this page!
There is no longer a delay when switching weapons, allowing for seamless transition between two weapon sets during gameplay. This approach effectively eliminates the delay associated with dual weapon set builds, enabling more immediate execution of skills.
It is important to note that a new restriction has been implemented, requiring both weapon sets for certain skills, such as Blink. It is likely that this was implemented to prevent builds from circumventing the status requirements of certain powerful skills.

Before equipping the alternative equipment, you must first swap your weapon loadouts. Open your inventory and hover over the top of your equipped weapon, and then press on the II slot to swap weapon loadouts.
After swapping weapon load-outs, you may now equip the alternative weapon you wish to slot in. Depending on your level and the weapon you slotted in, Weapon Set Points for the passive skill tree will be allotted accordingly!

The Weapon Swap feature allows players to swap weapons during combat automatically. With it, players can assign specific active skills to two different weapons or weapon sets. When a player activates an assigned skill, they will automatically switch to the weapon set associated with the skill. To swap weapons on PC, simply press the X button.
On the controller side of things, it can be more complicated as you need to set the bind yourself. Access the radial menu by holding down the inventory button and flick over to Bind Screen option. After that, assign the Toggle Weapon Set to any button you are comfortable with!

Weapon swapping is primarily used to adapt to different situations, such as using a weapon that uses different modifiers. This feature enables players to swiftly adapt to changing scenarios by utilizing different weapons, skills, or modifiers that are favorable to the situation.
For instance, if the mobs or elite you are currently facing are resistant to your current weapon set, you may want to switch to a different element. Similarly, if you need to clear elite and bosses more quickly, you may want to switch between sets that specialize in single target, then have another set dedicated for mapping.
