How to Swap Weapons

1. Swap Weapon Loadouts

Before equipping the alternative equipment, you must first swap your weapon loadouts. Open your inventory and hover over the top of your equipped weapon, and then press on the II slot to swap weapon loadouts.

2. Equip the Alternative Weapon

After swapping weapon load-outs, you may now equip the alternative weapon you wish to slot in. Depending on your level and the weapon you slotted in, Weapon Set Points for the passive skill tree will be allotted accordingly!

3. Press the Assigned Key to Swap Weapons

The Weapon Swap feature allows players to swap weapons during combat automatically. With it, players can assign specific active skills to two different weapons or weapon sets. When a player activates an assigned skill, they will automatically switch to the weapon set associated with the skill.

Note that there is a slight delay that occurs between pressing a skill input and activation when using the weapon swap feature.

PC

To swap weapons on PC, simply press the X button to try out your alternative weapon!

Controllers

On the controller side of things, it can be more complicated as you need to set the bind yourself. Access the radial menu by holding down the inventory button and flick over to Bind Screen option. After that, assign the Toggle Weapon Set to any button you are comfortable with!

The new Weapon Specialization mechanic in Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2) allows players to utilize different passive skills for different weapon sets. In the passive skill tree, players will be able to toggle between their first and second weapon sets and unlock skill nodes under those weapon sets according to their preference.

Overall, this feature allows players a greater degree of freedom and variety when it comes to building their character. For example, players can build a dual-element sorceress by assigning two different staves and different passive skills that buff their respective elemental damage.
