How to Get Soul Cores

Reward from Trial of Chaos

Reward from Trial of Chaos

Soul Cores are obtained as a reward for defeating bosses in the Trials of Chaos. The Trialmaster will show you which Soul Core you will receive upon killing the boss.

The Trials of Chaos are found in the Vaal Jungle during Act 2. You'll need Ultimatums to start a trial which are dropped at random by enemies.

Soul Cores can also be obtained by visiting the Currency Exchange NPC in every Act. Currency Exchange becomes available in Cruel Difficulty which is unlocked after completing Act 3 on Normal difficulty.

What Are Soul Cores?

Socketed Into Equipment

Soul Cores are inserted into equipment with empty sockets, similar to Runes. Once inserted, they cannot be removed or replaced.

Soul Cores cannot be retrieved through salvaging or disenchanting.
