Dodge Roll in Rhythm During the Spear Phase to Avoid Damage
Aside from the heavy Poison damage Viper can deal, her legion’s spear phase poses a significant challenge. The best strategy is to Dodge Roll in a consistent rhythm, regardless of when an attack seems imminent. This method ensures you remain safe without second-guessing your timing.
Stay Close to the Shield
Alternatively, you can get close to shield and watch out if the shield beside you lights up green. This way, you'll have an easier time spotting the shields that glow and are preparing to attack.
Watch Out for the Seventh Attack
The seventh attack in this phase is a sweeping wave of spear strikes originating from one side. Its starting point is random, but you can spot it by the glowing spears. Stay alert and Dodge Roll toward the wave's origin as it approaches.
Get Chaos and Poison Damage Reduction
Viper is perhaps the first difficult boss that deals most of their damage as Chaos damage. You will constanly get Poisoned in this fight and get hit by Chaos damage. It's heavily recommended to bring an Antidote Charm for Poison Immunity and a good source of Chaos Resistance, such as Amethyst Rings.
Alternatively, Just Get More Life Modifiers
Since Chaos Resistance is a difficult stat to get, the next best defensive you can get on your gear is as much Life as you can, especially during the campaign.

Viper charges up a poison spear and lunges it at you. This attack has a delay so be careful dodging early. |
| “Storm of Xopec!” or “Xopec's spear!” Lightning Spear |
Charges up a Lightning-infused spear wher the projectiles that split returns to Viper. Dodge Roll sideways to avoid the returning projectiles. |
| “Bow to your Queen, or die!” or “The Viper strikes” or “I will not relent!” Spear Combos |
Viper has a two sets of melee combos that are similar to each other. Keep your distance and Dodge Roll the last hit to avoid getting hit. |
| Quiksteps | Viper has a couple of quickstep moves that can also be followed up with quick attacks. These moves are fast but fortunately doesn't do much damage. |

Sticks her spear to the ground which leaves a constant pool of poison. Viper continues to No Spear Mode and changes movesets. |

Random spearmen will start thrusting their spears in succession. It's best to keep dodging in rhythm if reacting to each attack becomes too demanding. |
| Fire and Chaos Meteors | Channels a spell that continually rains fire and chaos meteors to the arena. Stay aware of the red and purple marks on the ground to determine which spots are safe to move to during this phase |

Jumps high in the air and slams to the ground for big damage. Move and Dodge Roll away once she jumps to avoid this attack. |
| Lingering Snakes | Summons a number of poison snake projectile to roam the arena for a time that deals damage when you get hit. It'll be tough to dodge this move with other attacks at the same time, prioritize focusing other deadly attacks before focusing on avoiding these. |
| Poison Shots | Shots a barrage of poison projectils and follows it up with a burst of them. Sidestep the rapid shots then Dodge Roll forward to avoid the last burst of projectiles. |
