Alongside other content, the main selling point of the 0.4.0 Patch is the Druid class, which will be the newest class introduced. This class also comes with with two of its ascendancies: the Shaman and Oracle.
Druid Class Overview and Skills
Though it was not announced during the reveal livestream, the Disciple of Varashta Sorceress Ascendancy was also introduced upon the release of 0.4.0. This class focuses on summoning Djinn minions to deal damage or provide utility for yourself and your allies.

The Mercenary can utilize multiple crossbows and ammo types to deal with any situation from range. It can destroy enemy shields or armor with rapid fire, block paths will a wall of ice, or shotgun bosses to burst them down.

The Druid is a shapeshifting class that combines strength and intelligence. In human form, the Druid can cast spells to damage enemies from range. In animal form, it can trample enemy hordes or deliver devastating blows up and close.

As of Patch 0.4.0, only the Druid's two Ascendancy Classes were introduced in the game and are available to play:

The Oracle is an Ascendancy Class of the Druid that specializes on using their supernatural insight to see paths and opportunities that others fail to see. He can also unlock additional paths in the passive tree and enhance a foresaw path of action.

The Shaman is an Ascendancy Class of the Druid that channels the rage of nature, the elements, and their residents. He can also bring out the full potential augments and bring forth storms of elemental fury through the Apocalypse skill.
As of Patch 0.2.0, a total of 5 other new Ascendancy Classes are available to play:

The Ritualist is an Ascendancy Class of the Huntress that utilizes blood and sacrifices to buff herself and destroy enemies. She can also boost her trinkets such as rings and amulets to give an enhance her stats.

The Amazon is an Ascendancy Class of the Huntress that not only exploits enemies' weaknesses, but also enhance her own strength through elemental infusion of weapons and increasing critical strikes.

The Tactician is an Ascendancy Class of the Mercenary that uses its elite skills to call down rain of arrows and pin enemies down. Tacticians can also support the battlefield by planting banners that buff up their whole team.

The Smith of Kitava is an Ascendancy Class of the Warrior that summons and buffs weapons in combat. Additionally, Smiths of Kitava have the unique ability to alter the properties of their armor as needed.

The Lich is an Ascendancy Class of the Witch that is an unholy master of Chaos and Curses. The Lich can also increase their Energy Shield at the expense of sacrificing their life

During Early Access, the initial Ascendancy Classes available for play will be a total of 12 ascendancies. There will be 2 ascendancies for each of the 6 base classes available:

The Witchhunter is an ascendancy class for the Mercenary. Witchhunters focus on repelling magic in exchange for lesser defense. They can also disrupt spell casters, making them efficient mage killers.

The Gemling Legionaire is another Mercenary ascendancy class that enhances their abilities by embedding gems in their flesh. Gemling Legionnaires can gain extra skill slots, elemental resistances, and use any gem colors without worrying about attribute requirements.
Gemling Legionnaires can also increase the quality of their gems, making them more effective when used.

The Invoker is a Monk ascendancy class in tune with the elements. The Invoker can release waves of elemental power for each critical strike, gain the ability to meditate, and increase his energy shield.
The Invoker can specialize in either cold or lightning damage, and turn himself into an Unbound Avatar which allows him to deal more damage, and inflict more elemental ailments.

The Acolyte of Chayula is another Monk ascendancy class that taps into the darkness. Acolytes can exchange their Spirit resource for Darkness, an alternative resource that allows them to absorb and deal more damage.
Acolytes can walk into the Breach, where they can see the flames of Chayula, allowing them to gain mana, life, and damage.

The Deadeye is the marksman ascendancy class of the Ranger. The Deadeye can fire multiple projectiles, increase her movement speed, and fire at enemies from any range.

The Pathfinder is another Ranger ascendancy class that can make enemies bleed, electrify, or poison them using her concoctions. She can move fast while firing her projectiles and ignore the slowing effects of enemies.

The Stormweaver is an elemental lightning Ascendancy class of the Sorceress. Weaving lightning magic to any spell, she can apply different damage types to enemies with multiple projectiles.

The Chronomancer is the second ascendancy class for Sorceress. She can manipulate time to instantly freeze enemy hordes in place, and gain the ability to teleport to her previous position, restoring her health and mana to what it was.

The Warbringer is a Warrior ascendancy class that channels his ancestor's might in battle. He can summon ancestral spirits through the use of totems, make his enemies explode, and encase his body in jade to protect himself from damage until it breaks.

The Titan is another Warrior ascendancy class that focuses on heavy strikes and combat prowess. The Titan can summon aftershocks from his attacks and easily stun enemies to set them up to take higher damage.

As an Infernalist ascendant class for the Witch, you can summon a hellhound that sets enemies on fire and absorbs a percentage of your damage taken. The Infernalist can also turn her mana into an infernal flame that can ignite enemies and overflow as you cast more skills, dealing damage to you.
The Infernalist can also transform into a demon, taking increased damage in exchange for faster cast speed and higher damage dealt.

The Blood Mage is another Witch ascendant class that masters life and blood energy. All skills will cost a percentage of your health and mana, in exchange all enemies killed will drop life remnants, allowing you to regain lost health.
The Blood Mage can gain an energy shield from her body armor as maximum life, and leech life off of enemies from her spell damage. In addition, she can increase her critical damage based on her maximum life.

There are 12 planned classes with 3 Ascendancies each, which makes it 36 Ascendancy Classes, in Path of Exile 2! More of the classes will be added in the future updates of the Early Access.
