Stick Close to and Break the Towers Xyclucian Sits On

Break the Towers Xyclucian

During different stages of the fight, Xyclucian will stand on top of towers around the arena and fire different projectiles at you. Players can attack and destroy the towers Xyclucian sits on to stun it for a while, giving them ample time to deal damage.

Additionally, sticking close to the towers allows players to effectively dodge Xyclucian's fire and poison projectiles as they do not reach the area near the towers.

Avoid Massive Ground Stomps and Dives

One of the most lethal attacks Xyclucian has is his stomps, which can deal massive damage in a wide area. To avoid it, players should distance themselves from Xyclucian as soon as he roars since the attack comes after it. The same tip applies whenever Xyclucian leaps toward the player, as his landing is an AoE attack.

Don't Get Caught Up in Xyclucian's Ice Breath

Players should avoid getting caught up in Xyclucian's Ice Breath attack, as it's arguably the most fatal elemental attack it has. The Ice breath attack can slow players down within its radius. Once slowed, players will find it nearly impossible to escape the attack, and the continuous cold damage will likely result in their deaths.

To avoid it, players should distance themselves from Xyclucian as soon it inhales and a blue light appears around one of its mouths.

Increase Overall Elemental Resistances

Chimera Elemental Attacks

Players should try to increase their fire, ice, poison, and lighting resistance before the fight. Most of Xyclucian's attacks are elemental-based, so increasing elemental resistances will help with survival during the fight.

All Attack Patterns

Moves	Details and Tips
Double Ground Slam	Xyclucian leaps into the air and slams into the ground, roaring before slamming into the ground a second time. You can time your dodge to go through the shockwaves without taking damage.
Fireball	Xyclucian hurls a single fireball forward before leaping into the air, slamming into the ground.
Ice Beam	Xyclucian focuses a beam of ice into the ground, spreading ice and dealing cold damage within a wide area. You can quickly dodge away from the ice to avoid taking damage.
Fire Breath	While in the air, Xyclucian can breathe fire downwards for a few seconds, following your position. Keep moving to avoid getting caught in the fire.
Lightning Bolt	Xyclucian releases several small orbs of lightning that move around the area. After a short period, lightning will strike where the orbs are. The orbs do not follow your position, so just stay away while they are moving around.
Poison Spray	Xyclucian swings its tail side to side while shooting poison projectiles. Go behind it to completely avoid getting hit.
Fireball Volley	When Xyxlucian is on a stone pillar, it can continuously throw fireballs directed towards your current position. You can quickly dodge away just before the projectiles land to avoid taking damage.
Poison Spray Variant	Xyxlucian can also do its Poison Barrage when standing on a stone pillar. You can stay close and continue hitting the pillar since the projectiles do not go anywhere near.
Ice Wall	When leaving a stone pillar, Xyclucian can fly in a straight line and create a wall of ice, dealing cold damage if you get hit. Position yourself away from its flight path to avoid getting damaged.

Xyclucian awaits you at the Deadly Nest in the Chimeral Wetlands of Act 3. You'll encounter the Chimera as part of the Legacy of the Vaal main quest.
