Lost Towers Rework

Patch 0.3.1 introduces changes to endgame mapping. You no longer need Towers to use Tablets on. Instead, you can use Tablets on the maps themselves, and the number of slots open depends on the number of map modifiers.

Changes to Atlas Maps

For map content, Map Bosses will now be present in every map, and those with the Map Boss icon will now have a Powerful Map Boss waiting at the end. The additional content maps have will now be randomly generated, so the icons for Breach, Delirium, Ritual, and Expidition will be removed.

Atlas Skill Tree Adjustments

With the changes to Tablets and additional content, the Atlas Skill Tree will be adjusted accordingly. Though the tree itself will stay approximately the same, there will be changes to nodes affecting Map Bosses and Towers.

Reduced Enemies and Map Size

To address the issue of maps taking too long to finish, the 15 largest maps have their sizes reduced, making them faster to complete. Additionally, the number of enemies in early endgame has also been reduced to make the difficulty spike less harsh. This helps players with builds that cannot deal as much AoE.

General Improvements

The 0.3.1 patch also addresses other issues. This includes making Alchemy Orbs more relevant in the endgame, fixing modifiers that cause ground effects, multi-phase boss difficulty, and more.

September 29 to October 5, 2025

Though the 0.3.1 patch update for Path of Exile 2 was announced on September 25, 2025, the patch itself will come out sometime between September 29 to October 5, 2025. This was released to address issues related to mechanics in the endgame.
