Omen of Putrefaction can be obtained as a random drop from Abyssal Monsters within the Abyssal Depths, introduced in Patch 0.3.0.

How to Use Omen of Putrefaction

Used for Desecration

Desecrated Item
Omen of Putrefaction is a consumable item that you activate in your inventory to influence your next Desecration attempt. While active, it replaces all existing modifiers on the item with up to 6 Desecrated modifiers and automatically Corrupts the item. Best used on valuable item bases when you want a complete transformation, but remember that Corruption locks the item from further crafting.

How to Use Omen of Putrefaction
Checkmark Activate the Omen. Right-click the Omen in your inventory to set it as active. Only one Omen can be active at a time.
Checkmark Use Desecration. While active, your next Desecration attempt will replace all existing modifiers on the item, creating an item with up to 6 Desecrated modifiers and Corrupting it in the process.
Checkmark Consumes on use. The Omen is removed from your inventory once it triggers during a Desecration attempt.
Checkmark Use strategically. Save this Omen for valuable bases you want to fully transform into Desecrated items. Keep in mind that the item will be Corrupted, so no further modifications can be made afterward.
