Strongboxes are locked chests that you can find when exploring maps in the Atlas. These chests will present a challenge to players who attempt to unlock the chests, unleashing enemies to deter players from trying to loot the said strongbox.

Strongboxes can use currencies and obtain new modifiers to grant more challenges in exchange for better rewards. Be sure to always consider using your orbs to gain extra benefits from Strongboxes.
Strongboxes found in the map will start as unidentified. Always bring a Scroll of Wisdom and use it on a Strongbox to determine what Strongbox it is as well as its rewards and rarity.
Once a Strongbox is identified, you can further modify it (if desired) to possess additional modifiers which translates to a better loot drop. Consider the map's current difficulty and your character's current capability before modding a Strongbox to its fullest.
Once you're prepared to open the Stronbox, be sure to clear the surrounding vicinity first. Getting ambushed midfight, especially with a rare monster can prove fatal in the Atlas and may cause your death and a massive XP loss when in the endgame.
Once you've cleared the monster horde, loot the Strongbox to obtain your hard-earned reward.
There are multiple types of Strongboxes, each containing its own set of rewards. Below is a list of Strongbox types and the types of items they contain.
