War Banner is a Spirit Gem in Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2). Continue reading to learn about its effects, modifiers, how to obtain it, its requirements, and other gems you can pair with it.

How to Use War Banner

Activate then Place on Your Hotbar

Using and Equipping War Banner Skill

War Banner, like other spirit gems, must be activated through the Skills tab. You will know it is active when you see a swirling effect on its icon. Once activated, assign it to a skill slot by clicking the hotbar and selecting the skill. You’ll be able to place the banner once you’ve gained enough Glory.

Description
While active, killing enemies with attacks or standing near a Unique enemy generates Valour. using this skill consumes Valour to place an inspiring Banner with an Aura that grants you and nearby allies Attack damage and accuracy while Banner lasts. The Banner cannot gain Valour while placed, and you cannot place a Banner while you already have a Banner placed.

・10% more Aura effect per Valour
・Banner Aura radius is 4M
・Banner duration is 6.15s, or until you leave the Aura
・Aura grants 30% increased accuracy
・Aura grants 5% more attack damage

Latest Patch Update

  • War Banner: Aura now grants 25% more Attack damage (previously 5-6%), 50% increased Accuracy Rating (previously 30%), and also now grants 25% increased Attack Speed. Now has a duration of 6.6-9.8 seconds at Gem levels 4-20 (previously 6.15-6.9 seconds), and Banner is no longer removed when you leave the Aura. Quality now provides 0-10% increased Reservation Efficiency (previously +0-2% more Aura Magnitudes per Valour).

How to Get War Banner

Unlock War Banner Using an Uncut Spirit Gem

You can unlock the War Banner Spirit Gem in the Gemcutting menu by engraving the skill using a Level 4 or higher Uncut Spirit Gem.

Me again. Sorry, I looked at the line where it says projectile, aoe, all that. Almost all crossbow skills are attacks. Activate the banner with spirit and put it on your skill bar. There's an extremely thin line that curves around the skill icon that shows current glory. Takes ages to fill until you put points into glory generation. With tactician it's very easy. Banners are amazing and completely broken in 0.3.0

This uses Glory that you get from using Attacks on enemies. There aren't any attacks among the crossbow skills so if you are a mercenary I hope you are using bows or spears or maces instead. It's so dumb, it has to be a mistake.
