Unlike previous games in the series, it's been confirmed that Golden Tools in New Horizons can break.
No Special Effect Other than Durability
There doesn't seem to be any additional effects for using the Golden Net. As no special effects have been confirmed for any of the Golden Tools, it's assumed that this is consistent for the Golden Net. Due to the difficult process needed to obtain it, we can't recommend seeking out the Golden Net for its own sake, but it does look flashy!
