Is it worth it to sell your items using the Drop-Off Box at Nook's Cranny? Read on to see the pros and cons of using the Drop-Off Box in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH).
List of Contents
Nook's Cranny is open from 8 AM up to 10 PM only. After the store closes, you cannot go in to buy or sell items anymore.
You can use the Drop-Off Box to leave items to be sold at 80% of their price. The reason for this is that they have a 20% handling fee.
You can access the Drop-Off Box anytime, even while the shop is open.
The Drop-Off Box can be found just outside Nook's Cranny, on the left side.
As mentioned above, items sold through the Drop-Off Box will only net 80% of their full price. If you are trying to make money quick, this will hold you back a bit.
If you drop off the Hot Item of the day, it will be sold for its normal price. Take note that there is a 20% subtraction to your profit becuse of the handling fee.
You cannot sell turnips throught the Drop-Off Box. You can only sell turnips when speaking to Timmy or Tommy inside the shop.
Once confirming to put items in the Drop-Off Box, you cannot get them back. Check the items you have selected before dropping them off.
|1||Press the A button to use the Drop-Off Box.|
|2||Select the items to be sold by pressing A. You will see the total amount of Bells you will get with each item you add.|
|3||Press the + button to confirm. You cannot get items back after confirming.
You can go back and drop off items anytime in the day. The total amount you will get will stack.
|4||Receive the Bells in your bank account the next day.|
The next day, Timmy & Tommy will call you to say the amount of Bells you got from the items, which will be credited to your bank account. You can access it with the ABD using the Nook Stop terminal at Resident Services.
Hot Items are sold for double the price, so if the shop is open, you should sell it inside.
If you are strolling around the island at night, you can collect seashells or other low-value items and drop them off, in which case the 20% profit loss would not matter too much.
Regardless of whether you drop off the item,or sell it the next day, either way, you will get the profit the next day. Choose the option where you will get the maximum profit, because in this case, the 20% lost profit can add up to a lot of Bells.
