To use the Drop-Off Box in Animal Crossing New Horizons (ACNH), press A in front of it and choose which items you'd like to sell. To determine whether or not you should use the Drop-Off Box, refer to our guide here!
List of Contents
Nook's Cranny is open from 8 AM up to 10 PM only. After the store closes, you cannot go in to buy or sell items anymore.
Use the Drop-Off Box to leave items to be sold at 80% of their price. Take note that this has a 20% handling fee.
The Drop-Off Box is found just outside Nook's Cranny, on the left side. It can be accessed at any time, even when the store is open.
Items sold through the Drop-Off Box will only net 80% of their full price, so this isn't a good option if you're looking to get rich quick!
If you drop off the Hot Item of the day, it will be sold for its normal price. Take note that there is a 20% subtraction to your profit becuse of the handling fee.
You cannot sell turnips throught the Drop-Off Box. You can only sell turnips when speaking to Timmy or Tommy inside the shop.
Step | Instruction |
---|---|
1 | Press the A button to use the Drop-Off Box. |
2 | Select the items to be sold by pressing A. You will see the total amount of Bells you will get with each item you add. |
3 | Press the + button to confirm. You cannot get items back after confirming. You can go back and drop off items anytime in the day. The total amount you will get will stack. |
4 | Receive the Bells in your bank account the next day. |
The next day, Timmy & Tommy will call you to say the amount of Bells you got from the items, which will be credited to your bank account.
Access your savings with the ABD using the Nook Stop terminal at Resident Services.
What You Can Do at Resident Services and How to Upgrade
If you are strolling around the island at night, you can collect seashells or other low-value items and drop them off. In this case, the 20% profit loss would not matter too much.
We recommend selling high-price bugs such as tarantulas the next day when the shop opens instead of using the Drop-Off Box.
Regardless of whether you drop off the item, or sell it the next day, you will get the profit the next day. Choose the option where you will get the maximum profit.
In this case, the 20% lost profit can add up to a lot of Bells.
Golden Stag Selling Prices | |
---|---|
Inside Nook's Cranny | 12,000 Bells |
Through Drop-Off Box | 9,600 Bells |
You can use the Drop-Off Box if you just want to save space fast and still get Bells. This is only recommended for low-value items.
If you really want to save space, you could just store the items in your house instead. Learn more about house storage by clicking on our guide below!
