Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH) - How to Get the Pro Decorating License and Hang Items on Ceilings Guide

With the Pro Decorating License, you can now hang some furniture items on your ceilings. Several new types of ceiling decor can also be purchased from Nook's Cranny to decorate your homes. Read on to learn how to hang these items in your home and decorate your space!

How to Unlock the Pro Decorating License

Redeem it from the Nook Stop

ACNH - Pro Decorating License

You can purchase the Pro Decorating License with 2,500 Nook Miles from the Nook Stop found inside Resident Services. After purchasing the license, you are free to hang ceiling decor in your home.

ACNH - Pro Decorating License Refund Miles

The decorating features of the Pro Decorating License will also unlock as you progress through the Happy Home Paradise DLC.

After progressing enough in the DLC, Tom Nook will send you a letter refunding the 2,500 miles you spent on the Pro Decorating License.

1. Get the Pro Decorating License

ACNH - Use Pro Decorating License to Hang Items on Ceilings

You'll first need to redeem the Pro Decorating License from the Nook Stop.

The Pro Decorating License is a new Nook Miles reward that also allows you hang ceiling decor and place accent walls in your home.

ACNH - Buy Ceiling Decor in Nook

Not all furniture items can be hung from the ceiling. In Nook's Cranny, new furniture types will become available including ceiling decor which can be hung on the ceilings of your home.

3. Hang the Item on Your Ceiling

ACNH - Hang Items on Ceilings

Once you have an item to hang on your ceiling, enter your home and select the item from your inventory and choose the option to hang it on your ceiling. The item will placed on the ceiling directly above your character.

Ceiling Decor and the Pro Decorating License, which allows you to place these furniture items on ceilings, was released as part Version 2.0 on November 5, 2021.
