February 25 Update | Version 1.8.0 Update

The February 25 Update has been announced for Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH). This update brings Super Mario Furniture and Items to the game that you can purchase in the game starting March 1!

Update Available on February 25 at 8 AM

The February Update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons will release on February 25, 2021 (Thursday) at 8:00 PM EDT.

This update adds Super Mario Furniture and Items that you can buy from Nook Shopping starting March 1.

New Features

Dress Up as Your Favorite Super Mario Characters

The February Update adds Super Mario Clothes that you can use to dress up as your favorite characters, such as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and even Wario!

Teleport with the Mario Warp Pipe

You'll be able to set up a Warp Pipe that you can use to teleport around the island! You can even place a warp pipe inside your house for a quick short cut!

You need two warp pipes to teleport around your island. Placing three or more warp pipes causes you to warp around your island randomly

Use this item in creative ways, such as letting your character warp into a normally inaccessible area or to a hidden spot!

Super Mario Furniture and Clothing

A selection of Super Mario Furniture, Items, and Costumes will be available to purchase from Nook Shopping starting March 1.

Decorate Your Island with Super Mario Items

These new items let you decorate your island to resemble the Overland! You can even try your hand at recreating the Mushroom Kingdom!

New Seasonal Items

Hinamatsuri Festival Items

Item Availability	February 25 to March 3

Starting February 25 to March 3, Hinamatsuri Festival seasonal items, such as the Hinaningyo (Japanese Doll Set) and Blossom Lantern. Both the Doll Set and the Lantern will be available to purchase from Nook Shopping!

Pi Day Items

Item Availability	March 1 to March 14

Celebrate Pi Day with an extra scrumptios π Pie that you can order from March 1 to March 14.

Shamrock Day Items

Item Availability	March 10 to Mach 17

Celeberate Shamrock Day with new seasonal items available at Nook Shopping from March 10 to March 17. These include the Shamrock Soda, Shamrock Door Plate, and the Shamrock Rug!

The Able Sisters will also start selling Shamrock Day themed clothing from March 10 to March 17!

Receive the Mushroom Mural from the Mail

As thanks for downloading the update, you will receive a letter from Nintendo and a gift - a Super Mario themed wallpaper called the Mushroom Mural!

Decorate Your Home with the Mushroom Mural

The Mushroom Mural is the first Super Mario Item you'll receive from the February Update. Set it up in your room and transport yourself to the Overworld!

How to Update Animal Crossing

Update Method

Press the + Button on the Home Screen

With the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game selected on the Home screen, press the + button on your Switch to view the game data.

Select Software Update

Select Software Update from the left tab.

You can update your game Via the Internet or you can Match Version with Local Users.

If you have trouble updating your game, you can refer to the following solutions.

Check the Game's Official Twitter

You may not be able to update your game due to server failure. You can check the game's official Twitter account for information.

Check Nintendo's Server Maintenance Status

Depending on Nintendo's server maintenance status, you may not be able to update your game. You can check their official website for more information.

Check Your Internet Connection

Check if your Switch is connected to the internet.

You can check your internet status by going to the System Settings from the Home screen, and selecting Internet on the left tab.

If the problem persists, you can try restarting your Switch or your router.

How to Check if Update is Complete

Press the + Button on the Home Screen

With the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game selected on the Home screen, press the + button on your Switch to view the game data.

Select Software Information

Select Software Information from the left tab. You can go to the Nintendo eShop to see if your game is up-to-date.
