You can play Treasure Hunt with any villager on your island that you're good friends with.

Sometimes they will have a thought bubble on their head. Talk to them, and they will ask you to play Treasure Hunt with them. You can choose if you want to participate or not, but this comes very rarely, so why not play?

2. Dig Up for the Buried Treasure Within the Given Time

The given time for this playthrough was 6 minutes.

The villager will hide the buried treasure somewhere in the island. Run around your island to look for the buried treasure within the given time. It will look like a buried item similar to buried fossils.

The timer stops once you dig up the item.

3. Return the Treasure to the Villager

The game is not over yet! Once you get the treasure, the timer stops. You cannot open or drop the item, so return it to the villager.

They will open up the treasure for you and you will receive it as a prize!

Treasure Hunt Tips and Tricks

You Cannot Stop the Timer

Once the game starts, you cannot stop the timer. Even when pressing the Home Button to go to the Home Screen, the time will still run.

Dig Up Fossils Right Away

When you start the day, you should make it a habit to dig up the 4 fossils beneath the ground each day. That day, when someone asks you to play Treasure Hunt, you will immediately know if a buried item is the treasure!

Check the Upper Levels Too
