Use the Nook Stop Terminal in the Resident Services
Invite animals to your island by scanning their amiibo. To do so, go to the Nook Stop terminal, found inside Resident Services.
Scan the amiibo on Your Nintendo Switch
By tapping the amiibo card or figure on the NFC touchpoint of your Nintendo Switch, you can scan the character's amiibo.
Scan Complete!
The character will appear on the screen and will visit the Campsite!
Depending on the amiibo, you might also receive exclusive items that you can purchase from Nook Shopping.

Invite Animals to the Campsite
Use your amiibos from the Animal Crossing series to invite these animals to the campsite. From there, you can ask if them if they want to reside on your island!
Have Creative Photoshoots at Photopia
Invite your guests and neighbors and have crazy photoshoots at Photopia. Dress them up and decorate the stage for the perfect shot!
How to Unlock Harvey's Island and Photopia
Get Character Posters
After scanning a character's amiibo, get their special poster in Nook Shopping for 1,000 Bells.
How to Get Villager Photos and Posters
Invite Them to the Roost
You can invite your favorite villagers for a cup of coffee at The Roost! Simply interact with the phone on the corner of the room and scan your amiibo to have a cute cafe date with them!
Invite Them to the Hotel
As of the 3.0 update, you can also use amiibo to invite guests to the Hotel. After using the scanner on the reception desk, they will occupy one of the decorated rooms. They may also roam around your island.
You may want to do this if you wish to see a character in your game, but don't want to kick out any of your villagers.
