Turkey Day Dates, Items, and Activities | ACNH - Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Switch)

This is a guide to Turkey Day, a Thanksgiving event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH) for the Nintendo Switch. Read on to learn when Turkey Day starts, as well as what you can do during the event, and the items and prizes you can get!

Turkey Day Dates and Times

Franklin will be preparing at the town plaza at 5 AM. If you talk to him during this time, he will tell you to come back once he's done preparing.

What to Do During Turkey Day

Help Franklin Collect Ingredients

On Turkey Day, you will be Franklin's assistant and help him complete his dishes. Franklin will cook 4 dishes: Clam Chowder, Pumpkin Pie, Gratin, and Fish Meuniere, each with their own specific ingredients. All the ingredients can be gathered in your island, or by fulfilling villagers' request in their homes.

Gather the Ingredients

There are two ways to gather ingredients.

Some villagers will also be cooking in their homes. They will ask you to find an ingredient for their dish. In return, they will trade you an ingredient that Franklin needs. These items can also be found on your island. We recommend that you don't sell what you pick up during your exploration on finding the ingredients. They might be traded for an ingredient that Franklin is looking for!

Learn the Secret Ingredient!

Not only will villagers trade your ingredients, they will also tell you the secret ingredient to one of Franklin's dishes! Keep note of this while you're gathering ingredients for Franklin.

You can give Franklin the secret ingredient after cooking the initial dish.

Buy Turkey Day Furniture

Similar to October, Thanksgiving related furniture will be able at Nook's Cranny. They will only be available after Turkey Day, so those who missed out on Franklin's Rewards can still get it!

It's a good idea to collect them all, as they're only available for a limited time.

Turkey Day Cooking Recipes

Clam Chowder Recipe

Standard Ingredients	Secret Ingredient
Manila Clam (x3)	Scallop

The first recipe of the feast is the Clam Chowder, and to make it you need 3 Manila Clams, which are found by digging at waterspouts on the beach. So far, we have confirmed one secret ingredient, the Scallop.

Pumpkin Pie Recipe

Standard Ingredients	Secret Ingredient
Orange Pumpkin + White Pumpkin or Yellow Pumpkin or Green Pumpkin	White Pumpkin and / or Yellow Pumpkin and / or Green Pumpkin

Next up is the Pumpkin Pie. It seems like you will be asked for the standard Orange Pumpkin and one other, random color. To perfect the dish, you will need to bring Franklin the two remaining colors.

Gratin Recipe

Nothern Hemisphere Mussel + Round Mushroom or Skinny Mushroom or Flat Mushroom or Oyster Southern Hemisphere: Squid + Sea Urchin	Dungeness Crab

The third dish of the Turkey Day recipes, Gratin, seems to be a bit more tricky than the others, as it requires mushrooms of various types, like the Round Mushroom and the Skinny Mushroom, but those won't be available to Southern Hemisphere players. For secret ingredients, we have only had luck with the Dungeness Crab so far!

Fish Meuniere Recipe

For the last dish of the Turkey Day menu, it looks like Franklin will request different fish from you. We were asked for Sea Bass all times we cooked it, but for a Red Snapper or Dab to complete it. There might be other secret ingredients as well, but for now we have confirmed the Barred Knifejaw!

After finishing each dish, Franklin will give 4 items from the Turkey Day series, the Turkey Day Rug, Turkey Day Wall, Turkey Flooring, and the Cornucopia. We always got them in this order:

Turkey Day DIY Recipes

Upon finishing every dish and improving them with secret ingredients, Franklin will award you with DIY recipes of the entire Turkey Day series.

If you find it difficult to find the secret ingredients, the DIY recipe will be available at Nook's Cranny the following day for 19,800 Bells.
