April 2020 Update | Version 1.2.0
To receive interest on your Bells, put money into your Savings account on the NookStop ATM at Resident Services before the end of the month.
Your money will then increase at the start of next month because of Interest.
You can see how much money you got from Interest in a letter that's sent to you from Bank of Nook.
|
You get a 0.05% Interest Rate on the money in your Savings account every month. It doesn't matter when you put the money in.
For example, you'll get the Interest the 1st of February no matter if you put in your Savings the 1st or 31st of January.
Saved Money | Interest Rate | Money Gained |
---|---|---|
10,000 Bells | 0.05% | 5 Bells |
10,000 Bells × 0.05% = 5 Bells |
If you save up 10,000 Bells, you'll get 5 Bells Interest the next month. Your new Savings total will be 10,005 Bells.
Interest is cumulative, meaning you gain Interest for the total amount of time that's passed. For example, if you deposit money in January and launch the game in March, you will receive two months of Interest.
However, the max amount of Bells you can receive is capped, so make sure you open the game to collect your interests every month.
Saved Money | Interest Rate | Money Gained |
---|---|---|
5,000,000 | 0.05% | 5,001 Bells |
First Month: 5,000,000 Bells × 0.05% = 2,500 Bells Second Month: 5,002,500 Bells × 0.05% = 2,501 Bells |
You get more Money after each month passed.
The amount after the decimal point is rounded down.
When Interest is paid on your Savings, you'll get a letter from Bank of Nook at the start of the month, saving you a trip to the NookStop ATM.
Once you reach 9,999 Bells from Interest, you won't be able to receive any more money until you open the game, claim the interest, and save.
Here are our calculations on how many years it would take to get the maximum of 9,999 Bells in Interest.
Use it to see how far in time you should travel based on your current savings.
Savings | Years |
---|---|
100,000 Bells | 16 Years |
200,000 Bells | 9 Years |
300,000 Bells | 6 Years |
