Submitting DIY items is the fastest way to earn hotel tickets. There will be 4 DIY items requested at a time, which can be submitted by interacting with the chest in front of the hotel, next to Kapp'n.
Each item you submit will be immediately replaced with a new DIY request. There is no limit to how many items you can submit in a day. This means that as long as you have enough materials to complete the requests, you can consistently earn hotel tickets.
The DIY item requests become available after you first enter the hotel. Tom Nook will introduce you to the feature once it's available.

After submitting your first 5 DIY items, Kapp'n will thank you by giving you 50 tickets as a bonus reward. Upon submitting your 10th item, Kapp'n will reward you with 100 tickets.
Every 10 items afterward, you can expect Kapp'n to give you 100 bonus tickets. You don't have to submit them all at once. Even submitting them one at a time counts.
The day after you submit DIY items, Kapp'n may call out while on his boat. If you talk to him, he'll say an item you submitted was a big hit. He will then give you even more extra tickets as thanks.

To speed up the DIY submission process, it is recommended to place a workbench and a cooking station on the pier near the submission box. You can decorate the pier, including the area in front of the hotel, however you like.
Thanks to the Version 3.0 update, you also no longer need to have the crafting materials in your pocket. Crafting will automatically pull from your home storage if you don't have the material in your pocket.
It's recommended to stock up on crafting materials from your island resources, Nook Miles mystery islands, or Kapp'n islands. Then, store the collected materials in your home storage for easy DIY crafting.

Another major way to earn tickets is by decorating hotel rooms. Talk to Leilani at the hotel to decorate a room. Afterwards, she will compensate you for your work by giving you 200 hotel tickets.

Once the hotel is open, tourists will start appearing on your island. Occasionally, there will be tourists that have not yet found a place to stay.
Talk to any villager that doesn't live on your island to see if they need a room to stay in. You can then recommend the hotel to them and be rewarded with 50 tickets.

Hotel tickets can only be used to purchase items from the souvenir shop run by Grams. You can purchase items through the souvenir catalog by talking to Grams.
You can also purchase featured souvenir items by interacting with the items on display next to Grams. These featured items will be about 30% cheaper compared to their catalog price.
