Cooking is essentially just a different kind of craftng; instead of crafting furniture, clothes, or tools, now you can make food! Cooking can get you a total of 139 food items!
You can collect all 139 dishes to decorate around your island! Here's a tip: use the dishes to create a cafe or restaurant area for your island or home!
Just like eating fruits, you can eat food to do actions you wouldn't normally be able to do: like breaking rocks or pulling up trees

Recipes are available from a variety of sources: through Nook Miles redemption, through Nook's Cranny, or through villagers and messages in a bottle washed up ashore!
Collect them all to expand your knowledge of dishes that you can cook!
There are plants and vegetables that you can grow by yourself to cook DIY recipes and make tasteful meals in the comfort of your own kitchen.
In addition to pumpkins, there are five new farmable crops: wheat, tomatoes, potatoes, sugarcane, and carrots.
To cook dishes, you will need the Stonework Kitchen. Press A to interact with the Stonework Kitchen and prep a dish!
The Stonework Kitchen will be available as part of the Be A Chef! DIY Recipes+ which you can avail at the Nook Stop.
What Should You Spend Nook Miles on First?
After prepping a dish, you can do whatever you want to do with it: you can put it on a table as decoration or you can eat the dish and gain points for Stamina.
What Happens When You Eat Fruit?
Just like creating DIY furniture, it looks like you'll need to use recipes to make food.
You can redeem the Be A Chef! DIY Recipes+ pack which is available for 2,000 Nook Miles.
Nook's Cranny also sells a cookbook titled Basic Cooking Recipes that sells for 4,980 Bells.
Message bottles carrying Food DIY Recipes will also spawn on the beach. Collect the message bottles to get more recipes!
Tip: When viewing it in your pockets, you can even see the difference between a normal DIY recipe and a food DIY recipe!
How Often Does a Message in a Bottle Spawn?
You can visit villagers in their homes and come across them cooking! Talk to them while they're cooking to obtain the food DIY Recipe!
