ACNH - How to Get Furniture and Materials for House Kits

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH), check the sign in front of the empty house lots to learn which furniture are needed to fill in the plot. Read on to learn what kind of Furniture and Materials are needed to craft them!

How to Check the Furniture in a House Kit

ACNH - An in-game message notifying the player of the necessary items to build a house

After placing each of the three available House Kits, check what furniture is needed to round out the home by looking at the sign on the front.

Three pieces of outdoor furniture and three pieces of indoor furniture are needed for each house.

How to Get Furniture and Materials for House Kits

DIY Recipes are Automatically Available

After you receive the instructions for placing each of the House Kits, Tom Nook will send the DIY Recipes to your NookPhone.

This allows you to make all the required items as soon as you start working on the houses.

What Kinds of Materials Will Be Needed?

Although the Furniture in each House Kit is randomized for each island, the three houses all require similar Materials.

These Materials can all be easily gathered from natural sources on your island.

Flowers can be obtained with the Ladder

At this part of the game, you'll be able to craft the Ladder tool to reach higher points on the island.

If you climb the cliffs on your island, there will be wide fields of flowers which can be used for a Wreath, a required item for one of the Housing Kits.

Take Note of the Items and Materials You Need

Check all the Furniture

After placing the Housing Kits, check the sign on the front of each and write down the needed Items somewhere easy to check.

There won't be an easy way to check the list of needed items later without going back to the house plots, so it's best to take down notes now!

Check the DIY Recipes

Afterwards, go to a DIY Workbench, check out the DIY Recipe for each of the Items you need, and write down the needed Materials for each Item you need to craft.

We recommend you total up the amounts so you can go out and collect all the necessary Materials in one go.
