You can also use Snowflakes to craft items from the Ice (Frozen) series. You can get recipes in this series from perfect Snowboys.
You can get DIY recipes for Snowflake items from balloon presents when there is snow during the season of Winter.

How to Get Presents from Balloons
Finding balloons is not an easy task. We recommend using our Trading Board to get the recipes you want!

Once winter has settled in, Isabelle will make an announcement on snowflakes falling on the island. The Snowflake Wreath recipe will also be given to you during the daily broadcast.
It is also possible to get the recipe from balloons though if you miss the chance, so don't worry if you don't get the recipe in the first couple of days of the event.
These are special DIY furniture and items that you can craft using snowflakes that are only available for a short period of time.

Snowflakes will start falling and will cover your island with snow. Collect snowflakes to craft Snowflake items.
