In Kapp'n's Family Hotel, you can help Kapp'n and his family in building up their hotel! Decorate hotel rooms according to specific themes to earn Hotel Tickets, which can then be exchanged at the souvenir shop for hotel exclusive items and decorations. You can also dress the mannequins in the lobby so hotel guests can copy their look, craft special island goods to earn more hotel tickets, and invite guests using Amiibo.

Version 3.0 will include new quality of life improvements such as storage updates and an island reset feature. Originally, storage can hold up to only 5,000 items, but after the update, you will be able to upgrade your storage space two more times: first up to 7,000 then 9,000 at maximum.
You will also be able to use Resetti's Reset Service to clear areas of your island and revert them to their original state. If you have items in placed down in that area, you can have Resetti place them in storage, so you don't lose them.

Luna's New Dream World serves as a free create mode where you can customize an island without any restrictions. You can access this mode by taking a slumber on your bed.
You can decorate up to 3 islands in the dream world using items and recipes that you've previously owned without needing the materials to craft them. You can also adjust the weather and time of day while in Slumber Island and invite friends over to decorate your island together.

If you have Nintendo Switch Online, you will even be able to use the Nintendo consoles to play classic retro games. Animal Crossing will also have a LEGO collaboration, allowing you to purchase LEGO Items through Nook Shopping.
Animal Crossing will also have Amiibo collabs with The Legend of Zelda and Splatoon. If you purchase their respective Amiibos, you will get special collaboration items, and can even invite special characters to your island.
