The hotel's main feature is that you get to design hotel rooms that visitors can stay at. Each room will have a theme which you get to choose, and you will have to decorate it accordingly using the provided furniture. Once you finish decorating a room, you will earn Hotel Tickets, which you can exchange for items at the hotel's Souvenir Shop.

After unlocking the hotel, you can decorate up to 2 hotel rooms per day until you unlock all hotel rooms. There are a total of eight hotel rooms, and one VIP room that you can decorate.
Once you have all rooms unlocked, you are free to redecorate any room with no limits. However, you will only be paid for the first room you redecorate per day.

Once you have unlocked all hotel rooms, you will be given a VIP room that you are free to decorate in any way you want. If you invite someone on your island to stay in the VIP room, you will be rewarded an extra 50 Hotel Tickets.

To the right of the hotel reception is Gram's Souvenir Shop where you can exchange Hotel Tickets for items. You can get a variety of goods from Gram's Souvenir Shop such as tools, clothes, and furniture.
If you purchase the items on display, they are cheaper than their original price in the item catalogue.

By changing the outfits of the mannequins displayed in the lobby, you can get your hotel guests to wear your outfits. However, you will need to finish decorating a room first before this feature unlocks the next day. You will not be able to change your mannequin's outfit on your first hotel day.

To extend your island's reputation, Tom Nook has set up a shipping box in front of the hotel where you can fulfill DIY requests in exchange for Hotel Tickets. We recommend setting up a workbench near the box to make the delivery easier.

Guests can be invited through amiibo to stay at your hotel using the scanner on the reception desk. However, since amiibo guests are considered VIP, it is required that you already have the VIP Room unlocked before inviting them.
How to Invite Guests Using amiibo

All villagers can be invited as VIP guests. Simply scan their amiibo, and they'll happily accept the invitation to stay at your hotel.

Resident villagers can't be invited to stay at the hotel, even as VIPs. This also applies to current campsite visitors. If you want to give your villagers the VIP treatment, you can do so in Happy Home Paradise instead.
How to Invite Villagers to Happy Home Paradise

Special characters can also be invited, including those who live on different islands such as Niko and the Paradise Planning team, as well as Harv. Characters without specific roles, like Shrunk, will also accept the invitation as VIP guests.

Do note that some characters will continue working even after being invited as guests. For example, Harv won't be available at the hotel if you access his services on his island.

Active special characters on your island, such as Leilani herself or Orville, will also refuse the invitation. As mentioned earlier, if you still think they deserve some kind of vacation, you can at least do that in Happy Home Paradise!

You will unlock the hotel once you get a 3-star rating on your island. You will have to watch the K.K Slider concert and the credits that follow.
The day after, the Hotel will be under construction. Kapp'n and his family will be waiting for you inside the Hotel once it is built.
How to Quickly Raise Your Island Star Rating

Once the Hotel begins construction, the pier in your island will automatically be extended. The building can be found at that area.
