The Hotel is a new facility introduced in Version 3.0 of Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH). Read on to learn more about what you can do at the hotel and how to unlock it.

What Can You Do At the Hotel?

Decorate Themed Hotel Rooms
The hotel's main feature is that you get to design hotel rooms that visitors can stay at. Each room will have a theme which you get to choose, and you will have to decorate it accordingly using the provided furniture. Once you finish decorating a room, you will earn Hotel Tickets, which you can exchange for items at the hotel's Souvenir Shop.
You Can Decorate Only 2 Rooms per Day
After unlocking the hotel, you can decorate up to 2 hotel rooms per day. There are a total of eight hotel rooms, and one VIP room that you can decorate.
Invite Guests to the VIP Room to Get Extra Hotel Tickets
Once you have unlocked all hotel rooms, you will be given a VIP room that you are free to decorate in any way you want. If you invite someone on your island to stay in the VIP room, you will be rewarded an extra 50 Hotel Tickets.
Exchange Tickets at the Souvenir Shop
To the right of the hotel reception is Gram's Souvenir Shop where you can exchange Hotel Tickets for items. You can get a variety of goods from Gram's Souvenir Shop such as tools, clothes, and furniture.
If you purchase the items on display, they are cheaper than their original price in the item catalogue.
Dress Hotel Guests Using Mannequins
By changing the outfits of the mannequins displayed in the lobby, you can get your hotel guests to wear your outfits. However, you will need to finish decorating a room first before this feature unlocks the next day. You will not be able to change your mannequin's outfit on your first hotel day.
Ship Out Special Island Goods
To extend your island's reputation, Tom Nook has set up a shipping box in front of the hotel where you can fulfill DIY requests in exchange for Hotel Tickets. We recommend setting up a workbench near the box to make the delivery easier.
Invite Hotel Guests Using amiibo
Guests can be invited through amiibo to stay at your hotel using the scanner on the reception desk. However, since amiibo guests are considered VIP, it is required that you already have the VIP Room unlocked before inviting them.

Have Kapp'n On Your Island
The hotel unlocks after you get Kapp'n on your island. You will unlock Kapp'n once you get a 3-star rating on your island.
