Looking to buy Flowers, Bushes or Shrubs? Leif's Garden Shop is where it's at in this happy corner of Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Nintendo Switch). In this guide you can see what types of flowers and bushes you can buy, how to unlock Leif's store and when to find him.
List of Contents
Leif will start selling Pumpkin Starts after you've updated your game to version 1.5. He will show up the 1st of October and sell the starts for 140 Bells, which is half the price offered at Nook's Cranny.
For more information on how to grow pumpkins, see the link below.
While Leif and his Garden Shop was added with the Nature Day update April 23rd, 2020, he might not appear immediately for all players.
We've seen cases of him appearing both the 24th and 25th for the first time, so don't worry if he doesn't visit you immediately.
If you are in dire need of bushes and don't mind Time Travelling, you can skip forward till you meet him.

Bushes were available in previous Animal Crossing games and can again be bought from Leif in New Horizons.
Leif seems to always be selling 1 Shrub that will bloom in the season he's visiting you in, and then another random type of Shrub.
Both will be sold in all available variants, so for Hibiscus you would be able to buy both Red and Yellow, but Holly has no variations so you can only buy the one.
You buy them as Shrub Starts, so you'll have to plant them and wait for them to grow.
Unlike Flowers, which bloom all year round, Bushes will only bloom in specific seasons.
While they have Flowers, Bushes are basically small trees. You can't water them or walk through them once they start growin, so plan ahead when you plant them!
You can buy Pumpkin Starts from Leif for the 280 Bells, but during October he will give you a discount!
He will show up on the 1st of October and sell Pumpkin Starts for 140 Bells, which is half the price offered at Nook's Cranny. We recommended buying from him when he visits your island during October!
You can buy Flower seeds from Leif. He'll always sell 2 types of flowers, and just like Nook's Cranny he will sell all three standard colors of them.
However, he seems to have a higher chance of selling seeds not available at your Nook's Cranny, making it possible to get flowers you otherwise would have to trade for or find on Mystery Tours.
Leif will buy Clumps of Weeds at twice the price offered at Nook's Cranny, a whopping 20 Bells per Clump. That might not sound very exciting, but considering you can have stacks of 99 Weeds at a time, a full inventory might sell for more than you think!
Leif with happily sell you Flower Seeds and Bushes starting at 5:00 am to 10:00 pm, so swing by before the day ends!
Leif opens up shop in front of Resident Services once every two weeks, except on Sundays to make room for K.K. Slider's concert.

Leif will start visiting your island naturally after you've updated your game to version 1.2.
You don't need to have the upgraded Resident Services building or Nook's Cranny for him to visit your plaza, so keep an eye out for him and plant some happy flowers as soon as you can!
