Around Trees During Mushrooming Season

Northern Hemisphere November 1 to November 30
Southern Hemisphere May 1 to May 31

Mushrooms will start to appear during the last month of Fall. This is known as Mushrooming Season, and it occurs in November for Northern Hemisphere players, and May for Southern Hemisphere players.

Plant Trees Close to Each Other

5 pieces of mushroom will grow around Hardwood and Pine (Cedar) trees each day during Mushrooming Season. Up to 30 pieces of mushroom can appear on your island at a time.

We recommend planting trees close to each other so you can collect them easily.

How Close Can You Plant Trees?

Rare mushrooms are likely to appear more if you have a high island rating

The higher your island rating is, the higher the chances of expensive mushrooms appearing.

How to Get Mushrooms Efficiently

Mushrooms disappear after the Mushrooming Season

Once the new month starts at 5 AM (December for Northern Hemisphere, and June for Southern Hemisphere), all grown mushrooms around the island will be gone.

However, mushrooms that you have picked up and dropped will not disappear.

Sell for 10,000 Bells

You can sell Elegant Mushrooms for 10,000 Bells at Nook's Cranny. If you do not plan to use this Material for crafting, you can sell these for instant Bells.

Eat for a Temporary Strength Boost

Like fruits, you can eat mushrooms for a temporary boost of strength. This allows you to dig up trees and break rocks.
