This guide will show you how to get Purple Windflowers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH). Read on to learn how to breed Purple Windflowers and get more of them in your town!
Among windflowers, Purple Windflowers are one of the most difficult flower hybrids to make. Cross pollinating these can take a lot of time, even with time travelling.
Note: Windflowers that are native to your island have random cross pollination patterns. The information given here will only cover flowers bought from a store.
1 | Gather some White and Red Windflowers. |

2 | Make some Blue Hybrid Windflowers by cross pollinating two White windflowers. |
3 | Cross Pollinate the Red Hybrid and Blue Hybrid windflowers to create Red Hybrid Windflowers. |
4 | Use the Red Hybrid Windflowers to make Purple Windflowers. |
The first step in making Purple Windflowers is to gather up some White and Red Windflowers to make Blue Hybrid Windflowers. Cross pollinate Blue Hybrid Windflowers and Red Windflowers from seeds to create Red Hybrid Windflowers. Lastly, cross pollinate two Red Hybrid Windflowers to make Purple Windflowers.
Note that the windflowers you use will need to have been bought from Nook's Cranny as seeds, as the ones growing natively on your island have random cross pollination patterns.
For more information on how to cross pollinate, see the link below.
Even if you've fulfilled all the preconditions for Cross Pollination, Purple Windflowers may not grow the very next day. If there are no new flowers, you'll simply have to continue watering them.
There is a chance that Purple Windflowers might grow on Mystery Islands. Note that Mystery Islands can only ever give you one other type of flower, so you're not guaranteed to find Purple Windflowers on them.
If you're struggling to get a specific flower type or hybrid color, trading with others online might be the quickest way to get them!
The easiest way to get Purple Windflowers for sure is to clone the ones you have. To clone flowers, plant them somewhere where they aren't touching any other flowers of their type and water them every day. Eventually, they will make a copy of themselves in one of the empty spaces!
Once you get Purple Windflowers to grow, you can repeat the process to get more. These flowers are used to make other hybrid flowers as well, so why not grow a lot while you're at it?

For me your article is not completely true. I only get my purple pansies from orange ones and majority of my purple tulips come from black ones

This is completely wrong. You can't buy blue windflower seeds. It's a hybrid.
