If player 1 crafts an axe using Tom Nook's recipe, they can talk to Timmy and he'll start selling them (and the recipe) in the shop. Then other players can buy it. It was a very frustrating 20 minutes for my little bro before we figured it out.
Also curious, because it seems impossible!
