A mysterious video is currently hidden on PlayStation’s official YouTube Wolverine playlist, as spotted by eagle-eyed fans. Some suggest it may be connected to PlayStation’s upcoming February 12 State of Play.
Hidden Wolverine Video Sparks Speculation Ahead of February State of Play
Fans Expect an Official Update

A major Wolverine reveal may be coming soon after players discovered a hidden video on PlayStation’s official YouTube channel. Fans believe the unlisted video, notably part of the channel’s public Wolverine playlist, is part of the preparations for PlayStation’s upcoming State of Play event scheduled on February 12. While it remains unclear what this trailer is ultimately about, this discovery suggests that something could be revealed soon.
However, as long as nothing concrete has been announced, it is important to temper expectations. A hidden video doesn’t immediately equate to a new trailer. For instance, a similar occurrence happened to Square Enix. Before The Game Awards 2025, fans spotted an unavailable video in Square Enix’s "FINAL FANTASY" public playlist. Many expected the grand reveal of the third part in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, only to be met with disappointment, as Part 3 was absent from the main event.

It has only been six months since Insomniac gave players the first gameplay showcase of Wolverine. Released in September last year, it showed parts of the game’s rogues’ gallery of iconic Marvel characters. Players saw Logan facing off against Mystique, Omega Red, and a Sentinel in the game’s official setting of Madripoor, one of the most notorious, crime-ridden locales in the Marvel Universe. In the first gameplay trailer reveal, Logan’s combat style is shown to be pretty violent, with claws tearing through enemy skin, a far cry from Insomniac’s more PG-13 titles like Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank.
With its Fall 2026 release window approaching, fans are hungry for more Wolverine news, especially for a full gameplay presentation and an exploration on the game’s semi-open world.
The State of Play event is confirmed to feature more than 60 minutes of content, including trailers, gameplay, and teasers for upcoming PlayStation 5 titles. While no games have been officially confirmed, fan speculation suggests that Housemarque’s Saros and a potential reveal of Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet could be part of the showcase.
Wolverine Release Date Reportedly Revealed

Wolverine is reportedly set to launch in September 2026, according to a previous listing on the Latin American PlayStation Store, which was immediately changed to Fall 2026 hours after its discovery. This prompted eagle-eyed fans to believe that it was unintentional, as the North American PlayStation Store has not updated its description since the game’s initial announcement last year.
It is also worth noting that Insomniac previously confirmed a Fall 2026 release window for Wolverine during its first showcase last year. The rumors of a delay to 2027 in order to avoid Grand Theft Auto 6 were largely driven by speculation and lacked concrete evidence.

With the alleged September 2026 slip-up now changed, this could mean that it was just an honest mistake by the Sony storefront. However, given Insomniac’s tendency to release its games around the third quarter of the year, the possibility of launching Wolverine around that timeframe is not outside the realm of possibility. Previously released titles follow a similar pattern, with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launching on October 20, 2023, while Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales were released on November 12 and September 7, respectively. A September 2026 release window for Wolverine would therefore not be outside the realm of possibility.
Whether or not the apparent slip on the Latin American PlayStation Store points to a major update coming soon, Sony and Insomniac have not formally announced anything related to Wolverine, so players have to take all of this with a grain of salt.
