Armor Explained

Reduces Damage Taken

In the simplest sense, Armor reduces incoming physical damage that your character takes. This applies to both direct Physical damage and Damage over time caused by Bleeding, etc.

Max Damage Reduction

Armor also has a Max Damage Reduction of 85% of incoming Physical damage dealt by any enemy that is of the same Level. At any given point, you can only achieve a maximum of 85% of Physical Damage Reduction, other resistances will then be applied after the computation of the damage reduction from Armor.

Armor is a Collective Stat

Armor is a collective stat. A part of it is based on the stats of all pieces of Equipment you have equipped and the Aspects you have applied to those pieces of equipment. Additionally your Strength stat also plays a role in determining you base bonus for Armor. Other sources such as elixirs and skills also play a role in boosting your armor.
