Craft and Combine Gems

Diablo 4 - Jeweler Gem Crafting

One of the key functions of the Jeweler is the crafting and combining of gems. Like in previous Diablo titles, gems are a special type of item that can be socketed into your equipment, giving them additional effects and bonuses depending on the type of gem. Spend gold and combine your low-tier gems to craft more powerful gems for socketing.

Unsocket Gems from Equipment

Diablo 4 - Jeweler Unsocketing Gems

Aside from gem crafting, the Jeweler can also unsocket slotted gems from your equipment in exchange for 2952 Gold. If you want to switch out certain bonuses and effects, or replace your build's gems entirely, you can use the Unsocket function of the Jeweler to quickly remove gems from your equipment.

Add Gem Sockets to Equipment

Diablo 4 - Jeweler Adding Gem Sockets

The Jeweler can also add gem sockets to any piece of your equipment in exchange for Gold and Scattered Prisms. This allows you to slot gems into items that fit your build, giving them more utility on top of the stats and Aspects they already possess.

Note: Scattered Prisms are not easily obtained as these rare crafting materials only drop after defeating World Bosses in Diablo 4. Keep this in mind before adding gem sockets to your items.

Diablo 4 - Jeweler Upgrading Rings and Jewels

One of the key functions of a Jeweler is upgrading your Rings and Amulets. To begin upgrading your jewelry, choose any Rare or Legendary jewelry piece from your equipped items, inventory, or stash. Drop the item in the Upgrade Item tab of the Jeweler to start the process.

Note: While you can upgrade Common and Magical rarity jewelery, it is not recommended as the stats offered by these lower-tier items are outclassed by Rares and Legendaries.
